COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR POSITION

 

Community Congregational Church in Short Hills, NJ seeks a full-time Communications Administrator to assist with the daily operations of the church office, as well as multiple volunteer programs and special events. The Communications Administrator will provide support to the clergy and congregation through a wide range of responsibilities and duties, including (but not limited to):

 

  • Creative writing, proofreading, and editing
  • Publishing and distributing professional-quality print and digital materials

  • Website and social media management

  • Event planning and promotion

  • Coordinating volunteers

  • Receptionist duties

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and education: 

 

PERSONAL SKILLS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Strong proofreading and editing skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines in an organized and efficient manner

  • Professional and friendly, with a clear understanding of and respect for privacy and confidentiality

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while still functioning as part of a team

  • An understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of Community Congregational Church

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Computer literate; familiarity with Mac computer systems preferred

  • Strong familiarity with office programs such as Pages/Word, Numbers/Excel, and Keynote/PowerPoint (Mac programs preferred)

  • Experience with web hosting platforms, particularly Wix

  • Extensive experience with social media platforms, particularly Facebook

  • Experience with audio and video editing software (Audacity, Garage Band, and iMovie)

  • Experience with Google Drive preferred, especially with Google Forms

  • Ability to learn and master new computer and online programs quickly

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree, English or Journalism preferred
