Whatever you do for one of them,
you do for me.

Our Service to Others 2018-2019
OUR FAITH IN ACTION
Our Outreach Ministry is aimed at making a difference in the world as children of God! Hands-on opportunities for personal ministry and participation in our Church’s mission are available for children, teenagers, and adults to work side-by-side. The projects are aimed at allowing you to participate in whatever way you’re comfortable – from direct interaction with babies at the Diaper Bank, to sorting rummage for the Annual Charity Sale, to contributing financially to support our efforts! Thank you for supporting our Outreach Ministry!
The Diaper Bank is a diaper distribution program for families in Irvington. We work in partnership with the Irvington school district and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to distribute diapers to children who qualify by age and birth certificate.
The Annual Charity Sale is the main fundraiser for our Outreach events throughout the year, as all of the proceeds from the sales benefit charity and our Outreach programs. Sales are held annually in the fall, with donations collected from April 1 - October 15.
Seasonal and special outreach events are held throughout the year,
such as collating school supplies for students in Irvington,
packing 5,000 pounds of food into family portions,
and stuffing stockings for kids at Christmas.
Our Life Skills Academy connects volunteers with students from Irvington High School in college preparation and mentoring through essay writing and application guidance. The program also includes classes on financial literacy, food literacy, and career coaching.
The heart of our outreach ministry lies with our volunteers. Thank you for partnering with us to make a difference in the world!
We work with select partner agencies who are invested in the mission of our outreach ministry. These include the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, the Irvington Board of Education & Superintendent Dr. Neely Hackett, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and the Imani Center.
