God & Politics

Sunday, November 1 at 12 noon

How Can Faith Bridge the Political Divide?

Is keeping faith and politics separate street-smart or a cop-out? When Jesus was asked about paying taxes to the governing Roman authorities, he famously proposed: “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's” (Matthew 22:21).

This year’s presidential election is hotly contested, the political climate is heated, and voters across the board are amped up. Commentators point to marked division, deep disagreement, and bitter animosity between voters and voting communities.

Participate in a town-hall style conversation about the ways in which faith can bridge this political divide. Mediated by Johann, topics of conversation will include:
May Christians bring their convictions to bear on politics - and who they vote for - or are they best kept separate?
Are Christians given guidance on how to treat others, particularly when they have conflicting views?

In-person: email to reserve a ticket. (Only 20 tickets are available.)
Online: Watch live on Facebook by registering for the private link, available at

Registration deadline: Wednesday, October 28th.
