See you next summer!
Vacation Bible School 2019
Welcome to this summer’s MANE event!
We’re preparing for an epic African adventure that is designed
for your whole herd - kids age 3 through high school all have a spot on the savanna!
At Roar VBS, kids explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life. Kids are in for a week of fun and exploring in a wild setting that celebrates God’s goodness! We kick off every day with a rousing rally of music and silly games, and hold special events throughout the week - like a bonfire and dinner on Thursday evening after the closing concert!
It’s our prayer that kids will discover a wildly refreshing understanding of how God is good - touching lives, changing hearts, and drawing kids closer to our God who ferociously loves them! At Community Church, we care about your kids, their faith, and their families, and we hope your family will be a part of this summer's adventure!
The pastors, staff, and teachers of Community Congregational Church ensure that VBS activities and lessons are not only age-appropriate and fun, but are theologically sound and inclusive of all. We are aware that two of the activities provided by the curriculum’s publisher (Group) are, by their own admission, racist and inappropriate for children. They will not be included in our program. We are committed to providing a positive environment for your children to learn and grow in their faith.
Date & Time
Vacation Bible Camp is held Monday, August 26 - Friday, August 30 from 9am - 2pm, for children age 3 through 5th grade and costs $60 per child. Camp fees are for the whole week (or any part of it) and are non-refundable.
*NEW* Bonfire, BBQ & Closing Concert *NEW*
In keeping with our African theme, we're excited to change up our annual family celebration a bit with a Thursday evening bonfire and bbq! Instead of the usual Friday Family BBQ, we'll hold the Closing Concert on Thursday evening, followed by a Bonfire and BBQ. Friday's VBC activities will run as scheduled from 9am-2pm. More details about timing and RSVP will be distributed during VBC.
To keep our program costs as low as they are, Community Church offsets a portion of the program fee, and parents are asked to take at least one 3-hour shift per family - more shifts are welcome! You will be asked for your first and second choice shifts during the registration process, and your shift will be confirmed the week prior to VBC.
Children must be fully toilet-trained to participate in VBC. Please do not register children who still require diapers or pull-ups, even if they meet the minimum age requirement of 3 years old. VBC staff and volunteers will not change children - we do not have the license or facilities to do so. Parents whose children exhibit ongoing difficulties once VBC is underway will need to remain on-site for the duration of camp or pull their children from the program.
Students in 6th and up may participate as Teen Counselors and receive service hours for their participation. Select the number of Teen Counselors you'd like to register on the registration form - there's no fee!
Camp is more fun with friends! Invite friends by sending them to this website or forwarding an email you received.
VBC provides a healthy mid-morning snack. Campers are asked to pack a nut-free lunch in an insulated lunchbox with their name on the outside.
I'm excited for a week of fun camp activities with your kids! Vacation Bible Camp will be a great way for your children to discover how God is an exciting part of their lives, while they explore foundational principles of Christianity in a nurturing, caring, and fun environment. If you have any questions about camp - or any other program at Community Church - I'd be happy to speak with you!
