AUGUST 23-27

9am - 2pm

Campers: Age 3 - 5th Grade

Teen Counselors: 6th Grade & up

Embark on an epic quest through hidden ruins, ancient caves, and dense jungles.

At Treasured VBC, kids dig into action-packed, faith-filled adventures.

They’ll discover God’s greatest treasure isn’t diamonds, gems, or gold – IT’S THEM!

Get kids away from their screens and sign them up for a camp experience that allows kids to be kids again!

  • Covid-conscious: We've consulted with some of New Jersey's top camp directors to implement the best practices for keeping kids safe, and we are constantly examining our protocols to keep with current conditions.

  • Unplugged: Sports, art, music, group challenges, and STEM activities keep kids away from the screen and engaged in active fun.

  • Bible-based: Hands-on and creative classes bring Bible stories to life, as kids discover God's truth for their lives.

Your children’s safety and our ability to provide a healthy environment for them are our top priorities in planning Vacation Bible Camp for this summer. We meet or exceed all state guidelines for COVID-19, and we've consulted with some of New Jersey's top camp directors to implement the best practices for keeping kids safe, including designated pods and increased sanitizing practices, including:

  • Designated Pods: Children and teens remain with the same group throughout the week.

  • Sanitizing: Each classroom will be sanitized between pods, and children will frequently wash their hands.

  • Large spaces: We're shifting classrooms and activity centers to the largest rooms available.

  • No Parent Volunteers: While we love having parents help out at camp, it poses too high of a risk for this summer, so parents will not be invited to volunteer.

  • Responsiveness: As new guidelines are published by the state and local health authorities, our practices will adjust to meet them.

If you have any questions about the steps we are taking to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 during camp, please reach out to us!

DATES: Monday, August 23 - Friday, August 27 from 9am - 2pm

  • Camp is entirely in-person on the campus of Community Congregational Church at 200 Hartshorn Drive in Short Hills. Please read through the precautions above that we are taking to ensure a safe camp environment.

  • We are planning a final performance and family barbecue for Friday at 12 noon. We hope parents, grandparents, and non-camp siblings will make plans to attend!

  • Please note: We are not offering Beforecare or Aftercare.

CAMPERS: Age 3 - 5th Grade

  • Campers will be grouped with children in pods by age/grade, and their group assignment will be assigned on the first day of camp. If your child has a friend or sibling who they'd like to be grouped with, please make a note on your registration form. We do our best to accommodate requests.

  • Campers must be potty trained. Children who exhibit ongoing difficulties with the bathroom won't be able to continue attending.

  • The cost per camper is $75 for the whole week or any part of it. Registration fees are non-refundable. Most of the cost per child is underwritten by the church - that's how we can keep our costs low. However, we incur expenses for staffing, supplies, and materials at the time of your registration. We appreciate your understanding.

TEEN COUNSELORS: 6th Grade and up

  • Counselors will be assigned a pod on the first day of camp.

  • Teen Counselors are asked to be onsite from 8:30am to 2:30pm each day to help with setup and cleanup.

  • An orientation for Teen Counselors and a signed Code of Conduct will be required for teens to participate.

  • There is no registration fee for Teen Counselors! Teens can receive documentation towards community service hours for school upon request. We ask, however, if your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can open that spot for another teen.

At "Treasured" VBC, kids discover they're priceless to God!

Camp is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences that kids can see, hear, touch, and even taste. Science experiments, team-building games, fun Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life.

With science, games, drama, music, cooking, and art & crafts rotations, kids will never be bored at VBC! Our professional teachers know exactly how to engage kids minds and hearts while nurturing their growing faith. In fact, many of our teachers are on staff here at Community Church!

In between all the silly games, dancing, treasure-hunting fun, kids will experience a nurturing, faith-filled environment that guides them in growing in faith. The foundation of Vacation Bible Camp is the love of God that we discover through God's Word. So, each day, a Bible story sets the stage for our activities, and campers learn a phrase that reminds them of their value to God.

  • Monday: "God Knows You" with the story of God choosing David to be king.

  • Tuesday: "God Hears You" with the story of David writing psalms to God.

  • Wednesday: "God Comforts You" with the story of God reassuring a king.

  • Thursday: "God Forgives You: with the story of Jesus forgiving Peter.

  • Friday: "God Chooses You" with the story of God choosing Esther to save her people.

At Community Church, we care about kids, their faith and their families, and would love for them to be a part of this summer's adventure! Every summer, it is our prayer that kids will discover a refreshing understanding of how God is good - touching lives, changing hearts, and drawing them closer to God.

A message from Pastor Jennifer:

It's been quite a year! We are excited to bring kids together (in a covid-safe way) that nurtures their spirits and grows their connection with God at VBC this summer. I hope you'll sign your kids up! If you have any questions about how we are keeping them safe while they're with us, please reach out to me! I'd be happy to speak with you!
