2020 Vacation Bible Camp Update

Your children’s safety is our top priority as we look forward to

2020 Vacation Bible School, which is currently scheduled for August 24-28, 2020.

As we continue to monitor COVID-19 and reopening guidelines, we are outlining a safe path forward for camp, which takes into account the concurrent situation, as well as our ability to provide a safe and healthy environment for your children.  Registration will not open until this path has been determined.

We hope we will get to see your little ones this summer, and will update this page with details and registration information when available. Please check back for updates!

Last Summer's MANE Event was an Epic African Adventure!!

At Community Church, we care about kids, their faith and their families, and love for them to be a part of each summer's adventure! Every summer, it is our prayer that kids will discover a wildly refreshing understanding of how God is good—touching lives, changing hearts and drawing them closer to God.

At Roar VBS last summer, kids explored God’s goodness and celebrated a ferocious faith with a week of fun and exploring in a wild setting. We kicked off every day with a rousing rally of music and silly games, and held special events throughout the week, including a bonfire and dinner on Thursday evening after the closing concert. Be sure to check back for details about this summer’s VBS plans!

The pastors, staff, and teachers of Community Congregational Church ensure that VBS activities and lessons are not only age-appropriate and fun, but are theologically sound and inclusive of all. We are aware that two of the activities provided by the curriculum’s publisher (Group) are, by their own admission, racist and inappropriate for children. They will not be included in our program. We are committed to providing a positive environment for your children to learn and grow in their faith.

Program Details

To keep our program costs as low as they are, Community Church offsets a portion of the program fee, and parents are asked to take at least one 3-hour shift per family - more shifts are welcome! You will be asked for your first and second choice shifts during the registration process, and your shift will be confirmed the week prior to VBC.

Toilet-Training Requirements

Children must be fully toilet-trained to participate in VBC. Please do not register children who still require diapers or pull-ups, even if they meet the minimum age requirement of 3 years old. VBC staff and volunteers will not change children - we do not have the license or facilities to do so. Parents whose children exhibit ongoing difficulties once VBC is underway will need to remain on-site for the duration of camp or pull their children from the program.

Teen Counselors

Students in 6th and up may participate as Teen Counselors and receive service hours for their participation. Select the number of Teen Counselors you'd like to register on the registration form - there's no fee!

Camp is more fun with friends! Invite friends by sending them to this website or forwarding an email you received.

VBC provides a healthy mid-morning snack. Campers are asked to pack a nut-free lunch in an insulated lunchbox with their name on the outside.

I'm excited for a week of fun camp activities with your kids! Vacation Bible Camp will be a great way for your children to discover how God is an exciting part of their lives, while they explore foundational principles of Christianity in a nurturing, caring, and fun environment.  If you have any questions about camp - or any other program at Community Church - I'd be happy to speak with you!
